Lynk and Squirrel Systems Strengthen Partnership

Atlanta, GA - April 30, 2004 - Lynk Systems, Inc., a leading payment processor, has expanded its existing strategic partnership with Squirrel Systems. Squirrel is a leading provider of restaurant management systems for independent and chain restaurants. Working together, Lynk and Squirrel have implemented point-of-sale (POS) solutions for restaurant merchants who need cost-effective, high-speed electronic transaction processing for both credit cards and gift cards. Lynk's credit card processing has been certified on Squirrel POS restaurant systems for seven years. Lynk's certification covers all versions of Squirrel POS and many Squirrel merchants process credit with Lynk. As a result of several joint initiatives, the collaboration between Lynk and Squirrel will now include:

  • Certification of high-speed Internet processing (DSL and cable modem) on the latest version of Squirrel POS software to provide Squirrel merchants with significantly faster transaction speed than can be obtained using dial-up communications.
  • Certification of GiftLynk, Lynk's gift card program, on most versions of Squirrel, to enable Squirrel merchants to enjoy the benefits of prepaid cards. Benefits include, but are not limited to increased revenue and cash flow, security, convenience and flexibility.
  • The exchange of restaurant merchant leads between the two companies for the purpose of closing and retaining more shared merchants.

“In March 2002, Squirrel Systems selected Lynk as a preferred vendor for payment processing,” said Barry Logan, president, Squirrel Systems. “ This successful collaboration began with dial-up solutions for both Lynk credit card processing and Lynk gift card running on the Squirrel POS. This next step in our relationship completes a combined solution designed to provide cost-effective, comprehensive electronic payment solutions to Squirrel customers.”

According to Logan, the business side of the Squirrel/Lynk relationship will also be enhanced with the addition of a lead exchange program. Both companies have Web sites and routines in place for exchanging and tracking sales leads, which results in a faster local response to inquiries.
