Customer Spotlight: How Americinn by Wyndham Mountain Home simplified their F&B Service with Squirrel Cloud POS

Kelli Camp and Noah Strout, are the owner and general manager of Americinn by Wyndham Mountain Home, a limited-service hotel in Arkansas. They shared with us their experience using Squirrel Cloud POS which they installed in March 2023. Here are some highlights:

Why did you choose Squirrel Cloud POS?

Kelli: I was looking for a point of sale system for our bar, which is a small and simple operation. We only serve beer, wine, snacks, and (very soon) paninis. I wanted a cloud-based system that was easy to set up and maintain at a reasonable cost. I got a recommendation from our payment provider and she connected me to a Squirrel rep. Squirrel did a great demo for me and Noah, and we liked what we saw.

Noah: Yeah, we compared Squirrel with some other vendors, like Square, Oracle, and NCR, but we found Squirrel to be more user-friendly and reliable. We also liked that Squirrel had a cloud-based technology, so we didn’t have to worry about on-premise hardware or downtime. We also liked that Squirrel had a fixed monthly cost, not based on transactions.

How was the setup process?

Noah: It was very seamless. We got all the hardware in the mail, and we followed the instructions to set it up. THe Squirrel team walked us through everything step by step – they were very helpful and patient. The team also helped us with the integration of our Elavon credit card terminals with the POS.

Kelli: Another nice thing that Squirrel did was that they downloaded all our menu items already into the system, so we didn’t have to do all that tedious entering. That saved us a lot of time and hassle.

How do you and your staff use the system?

Noah: We have one terminal at the bar, and we have three bartenders who rotate shifts. They all have their own login, which they like. They find the system very easy to use and intuitive. They can ring up orders, process payments, print receipts, and do everything they need to do.

Kelli: I mostly use the system for reports. I like the fact that I can access them from anywhere, and that they are very detailed and accurate. I can see the daily sales, the monthly sales, the inventory, the taxes, and everything else. It helps me keep track of the business and make decisions.

What do you like most about Squirrel Cloud POS?

Kelli: I like that it’s a quality product for a reasonable cost. It does everything we need it to do, and it doesn’t break the bank. I also like that Squirrel has a great customer support team. They are always there to help, and they are very responsive and friendly.

Noah: I agree. I also like that Squirrel is always updating and improving the system. They keep us informed of any changes or issues, and they always try to make the system better. I think Squirrel is a very professional and trustworthy company.

Would you recommend Squirrel Cloud POS to others?

Noah: Yes, I would. I actually already did. My college professor is opening a little college cafe, and I told her to look into Squirrel. I think Squirrel is a great choice for small and medium-sized businesses that want a simple and reliable point of sale system.

Kelli: Yeah, me too. I think Squirrel is a great partner for us, and I think they can help other businesses as well. I’m very happy with Squirrel, and I look forward to working with them more in the future.
