Squirrel Cloud POS frequently asked questions

Can I install Squirrel Cloud POS on my own tablet?
Squirrel Cloud POS is compatible with iOS, Android and Windows tablets. It can be installed by downloading the app from their respective app stores. A subscription must still be purchased directly from Squirrel Systems. For the best experience, we recommend iPad Mini, or other 7-8” Android or Windows tablets.
How easy is it to setup Squirrel Cloud POS on my own?

Squirrel has designed the setup experience so that it is easy to be self-installed with remote assistance from Squirrel implemention specialists. Our remote service package includes menu setup & programming, remote training, hardware installation support, and a dedicated customer success rep to help you 30 days from the date you go live.

Do I need an internet connection to use Cloud POS?

Yes, an internet connection is required to use Cloud POS. That said, if the internet connection goes down (off-line), it is still possible to process orders and send them to the kitchen so that you may still serve guests. Taking payments will be possible as long as payment terminal devices can process off-line.

Can I use Squirrel Cloud POS for my counter service operation?

Squirrel Cloud POS is well suited for counter service operation. We recommend adding a customer-facing rear display for the best guest experience.

Can I choose my own payments processor with Squirrel Cloud POS?
Squirrel has preferred payment processors in the US (Elavon and Shift4) which provide cost-effective, transparent credit card processing rates with incentives for payment terminal devices, and FREE setup and installation. However, customers are NOT required to use a particular payment processor and can choose to integrate with processor of their choice through our payment gateway partner (additional fees will apply).
