BURNABY, BC, 4 November 2015 – Squirrel Systems, a leading technology provider to the hospitality industry, today announced the appointment of Jason Leeson as President.

Jason has spent 20 years in the technology industry building and leading a variety of companies with a focus on technology strategy, development, and operations. With his extensive technology experience as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario Richard Ivey School of Business and a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Manitoba, Jason is well-positioned to lead Squirrel Systems as the company continues its growth and launches new point of sale products and services.

According to Charles Young, the Chairman of Squirrel Systems’ ownership group, Marin Investments, “We are pleased to welcome Jason Leeson to the Squirrel family. He has demonstrated a clear passion for innovation, which has been a defining characteristic for Squirrel ever since the company introduced the first touchscreen POS system to the hospitality industry in 1984. As technology advances at ever increasing speeds, Jason’s leadership will be key in ensuring Squirrel’s continued success.”

Bob Mackett, current President of Squirrel Systems, will continue to provide advisory services through the transition period. Charles Young said, “Bob has been a great leader for Squirrel in the eight years he has been President and we appreciate his contributions.”

Jason begins his new role as President of Squirrel Systems in December 2015.
