Here’s what you will be doing

As the QA Cloud Beta Field Deployment Specialist, you’ll be responsible for working on the deployment of new software and hardware releases to the field prior to general release. You’ll be working with Squirrel customers to help them with product questions over the phone and in person, and ensure that they’re successful after they have launched Squirrel Cloud POS at their restaurant. The QA Cloud Beta Field Deployment Specialist will have a good working knowledge of the Squirrel Cloud POS product and all new features and review all documented materials for accuracy. The QA Cloud Beta Field Deployment Specialist will be responsible for installing, training and follow up with the site in order to provide detailed updates to the QA manager for the Bring-to-Market process. The QA Cloud Beta Field Deployment Specialist will be required to work well with customers. Some travel may be necessary.

 

Specific Duties Include

  • Learn the Squirrel Cloud POS system and become a product expert

  • Install / configure Squirrel hardware including terminals, handhelds, printers and other peripherals

  • Install networking devices including routers and wireless access points

  • Conduct restaurant operation consultation sessions with owners/chefs/managers at the beta sites to configure the Squirrel Cloud POS appropriately

  • Run training sessions with front of house, back of house and restaurant management

  • Maintain and document implementation plans and network diagrams

  • Test / troubleshoot unknown networking problems

  • Ideal candidate will have flexibility with hours and ability to work weekends where required

  • Prompt correspondence with customers and partners through support calls, emails, and where required in person

  • Responsibilities may also include demos, training, and clear communication on how to resolve technical issues

  • Be an ambassador and represent Squirrel with integrity and professionalism

  • Help customers make changes to menus, employees, tables, and other parts of the Squirrel  configuration as required

  • Help customers with hardware and software upgrades (such as adding a new tablet to their system, setting up online ordering or a gift card program)

  • Help customers with basic network questions

  • Tracking beta site progress in our support ticket management systems

What You Bring

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present in front of customers

  • 1-3 years of restaurant industry experience highly desired

  • Familiarity with networking concepts and hardware

  • Demonstrates attention to detail and strong organization skills

  • Ability to problem solve / troubleshoot in a timely manner

  • Good working knowledge of Apple iOS, Windows and Android devices

  • Computer Science courses, certifications, or diploma

  • Adaptability, strong work ethic and professionalism during challenging situations

  • This role will require travel within your local area

  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and ability to learn quickly

  • Be independent and hard working
