Systems is expanding our People and Culture team and we are seeking a payroll and benefits administrator. You have solid experience in this field with a proven ability to assess and improve processes. We have a great team and will welcome a customer-centric administrator who is willing to learn and grow with us.

This is a permanent, part time position and works closely with Director, People and Culture.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

  • Working with 3rd party payroll provider, administer bi-monthly payroll in Canada and US
  • Issue ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including all year end processing
  • Assist employees with inquiries about payroll
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll
  • Act as the resident expert in all benefit plans and assist employees with inquiries including, but not limit to: changes to plans, claims assistance and onboarding new hires
  • Process 401(k) and RRSP employer contributions
  • Process Short Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and Workers Compensation programs
  • Process and track leave of absences
  • Prepare remittances for group insurance payments and WCB
  • Additional duties as required to keep our team running smoothly
  • What you bring

    • 3-5 years payroll experience
    • Experience with ADP and Payroll Guardian is an asset
    • Current knowledge of Canadian and US Payroll Law and Employee Benefits Programs
    • Knowledge of income tax forms, health benefits programs, sick pay, and retirement plans
    • Intermediate Word, Outlook, & Excel
