Offered as an option to SquirrelOne, Basics is SquirrelOne's suite of all-in-one "starter" management modules. Basics makes it easy to develop a taste for improving profitability.
A collection of valuable management solutions, Basics gives you added capability, control and insight into your most critical success variables - Time & Attendance & Waitlist and allows you to view and monitor critical real-time statistics through the Enhanced Reports module.

Time & AttendanceThis module gives you all the capability you need to handle basic time-and-attendance functions.
Time & Attendance enables you to monitor employee attendance, and enables your staff to clock in and out on any POS terminal. The module eliminates the need for other time-keeping devices.
Multiple job codes and corresponding pay rates are calculated automatically when staff punch in and out. You can create reports for pre-processing payroll information.
The "Edit Punch" screen gives you a measure of labor cost control, highlighting overtime and outstanding punches. (A good example of a user-centric Squirrel solution to a real restaurateur's needs.)
Looking for more control over staff cost? Upgrade anytime to Squirrel's Labor Cost & Productivity module. This Optional Module offers more-comprehensive control over labor cost and includes a Scheduling feature. (The historical data from Basics Time & Attendance is fully compatible with Labor Cost & Productivity so you're productive immediately after upgrading.
Waitlist
This Basics module gives you a hefty measure of added control over a vital and sensitive restaurant function: providing guests with accurate wait times.
Waitlist enables you to optimize table usage and turnover and automatically tracks, in real time, how long a party has been waiting. It also provides staff a running average to help them more accurately predict remaining wait time.
In this module, you can record guest name, party size, seating preference, along with their Loyalty member number and any special requests.

Enhanced Reports
This package allows you to exploit the information that SquirrelOne is collecting constantly throughout your business day. Now, you can be alerted automatically to your key business indicators in real-time – either via a simple one screen interface at the back office pc or, via e-mail alerts to any e-mail enabled device. Alerts allow you to act on controllable variables right away!
This package includes:
- A summary screen on the back office pc with configurable, real-time information. Drill-down capabilities create snapshots of information at your fingertips and specific to your areas of interest
- Not only can you track critical variables – you can also be alerted via e-mail (to any e-mail enabled device) when pre-defined thresholds are met or exceeded
- Custom reports are available directly from the Squirrel browser
