Squirrel WINS MICROSOFT 1998 R.A.D. AWARD
Vancouver based Squirrel® Companies Inc. was awarded the 3rd Annual Microsoft Retail Application Developer (R.A.D.) Award in the industry segment of Table Service Fine Dining June 16, 1998 at the HITEC Show in Los Angeles.
The panel of judges for Microsoft R.A.D. Awards recognized Squirrel's Restaurant Management System as best use of Microsoft technology while providing tangible business benefits to retailers.

Squirrel's winning interface is based on human factors engineering and runs on a Microsoft Windows NT software platform his part of the Touch Tomorrow™ Family of Solutions and is a 32-bit application designed as client/server architecture, Ethernet and TCP/IP with Microsoft Windows NT and SQL relational database to create a powerful Point-of-Sale (P.O.S) solution, which is scaleable to accommodate operations of all sizes.
For this new version. Squirrel teamed up with human factors engineers, industrial designers, graphic artists and Microsoft to create a unique user interface that is substantially easier to use. The ergonomic design matches innovative technology with the way people work best "Squirrel challenged itself to create the next technology innovation for restaurant P.O.S. Judging criteria included quantifiable business benefits, best use of Microsoft Windows operating system-based technology, ease of use and adoption, and integration and exploitation of Internet and Intranet technology. The awards were given to firms that develop and implement superior business applications addressing specific customer needs.
