Vancouver, British Columbia - September 28, 2005 - Squirrel Systems today announced a significant enhancement to its SquirrelOne POS offering by achieving validation with the Visa Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCIDSS) (previously called the Visa Cardholder Information Security Program or CISP).
Through the PCIDSS Payment Application Best Practice (PABP) Program, Squirrel Systems is demonstrating its commitment to maintaining a secure and reliable platform that assists merchants in protecting themselves against unscrupulous hackers intending to steal valuable information. "The Squirrel Research and Development team are very excited about the PABP validation and strong encryption rating by Visa and leading industry security assessor, AmbironTrustWave," said Joseph Cortese, Vice-President of Research and Development for Squirrel Systems. "The development team and the organization took the PCIDSS initiative very seriously with a focus on exceeding the PABP recommendations. We will continue to work closely with these world class organizations in reviewing and implementing security recommendations in order to assist our customers in protecting sensitive cardholder data."
