( www.compuwave.net ) to deliver hand-held point-of-sale solutions to the restaurant industry. Using Squirrel's newly developed Gateway API, Squirrel and CompuWave are integrating the award winning Squirrel for Windows point of sale solution, with CompuWave's Wireless POS solution.
The concept of using handheld devices in the food and beverage industry is nothing new, while the latest technological advances of open embedded OS, PDA and wireless technologies offer a brand new ground from which the new generation of handheld applications can be built; with much improved functionalities and reduced cost.
