Squirrel's very first customer, John Harper, has opened hundreds of restaurants since the first Squirrel installation in 1984. Now the leader of the ABC Country Restaurant team, he was preparing to open his newest location and found out that the local electrician had dropped the ball. Wiring that was expected to be in place - data lines and electrical circuits were just not there.
It was Friday afternoon and the restaurant was scheduled to open on Monday morning. Not a good time to discover a problem. Calling in an electrician on a weekend was, aside from the obvious budget issue, not possible on such short notice. So, the "two Johns", John Harper and Squirrel installer, John Collins went into the drop ceiling and started investigating the situation. Working into the wee hours of the night on Friday, they were able correct the problems and get the system up and running.
"The Squirrel installer in this case really went above and beyond to help us meet our opening day objective," said John Harper of ABC Country Restaurants. "An on-time opening is critical to our organization - any delay will result in lost revenues for the franchisee. The Squirrel installer, John Collins, made our objectives his number one priority. The ABC opening team members were all impressed with John's commitment to getting the job done. He was an integral part of our opening team."
