Application Process
You have taken the first step! We are often recruiting for new talent in various departments and locations. All postings are available online with a description and requirements. If you find something that interests you, apply!
Preliminary Screening
Squirrel Systems will review applications and assess skills and experience. This step in the recruitment process is used to determine if an applicant possesses the minimum qualifications to fill the position. Typically this is completed by the hiring manager. From here a short-list of candidates to be interviewed is created. So what can you do to increase your likelihood of making it through this step? The best way is to clearly articulate your qualifications as they relate to the position you are applying for.
Telephone Interview
The telephone interview step is one of the most important parts to the recruitment process. Not only do we interview the applicant for the position-specific qualifications, we also are looking for fit within the company. The interview can have three parts: an initial telephone interview with HR, an interview with the hiring manager and follow-up interview with various staff members. Those who are short-listed after the first interview proceed to the second round of interviewing. At the third interview, the candidate meets with members of the Squirrel staff ranging in areas of expertise and organizational levels. Although these follow-up interviews do address some position-specific qualifications, the main goal is to decipher fit with the organizational culture. This is also an opportunity for you to interview us! Taking the extra time at this step will help to ensure a long and prosperous relationship with our new employees!
Reference Checks
Upon a successful interview, you may be asked to provide references from previous supervisors or managers. You also may be asked to provide documentation of your training and/or education. The hiring manager generally contacts your references to better understand your background and confirm a fit to the available position and to Squirrel Systems. Upon a positive reference check your application may proceed to the Employment Offer.
Employment Offer
First of all—congratulations! The recruitment process can be long but looks like you have the stuff Squirrel is looking for! You may be extended an offer of employment in the form of a written offer letter. This letter will specify the conditions of your employment, key dates, and briefly describe your benefit entitlements. The hiring manager will review this letter with you in detail. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to discuss at this time. When all the details are agreed upon, the letter is signed and you are welcomed aboard!
Timelines
Please note that due to the volume of applications received, Squirrel Systems is unable to respond to every submission. Squirrel thanks all applicants for their interest; however, only those candidates short-listed will be contacted. If you are not contacted, please be advised that we will keep your resume on file for future consideration.
Although the timelines may vary depending on the posting, we try to contact candidates we are interested in meeting as soon as possible after their initial application. The entire recruitment process can take a couple of weeks to complete due to scheduling. Thank you for your interest in a career at Squirrel Systems!
